Fade Frequencies - Vol 02. with DJ Boozie aka Buse Sagaga

Fade Frequencies is a sonic extension of the Fade lifestyle. Comprised of a playlist series of curated sounds by the creatives, collaborators, and friends of Fade. Each edition brings a new voice and vibe — music that inspires, grounds, or moves them.

Volume 02 features Buse Sagaga, aka Boosie. Buse is a DJ, host, fashion icon and Western Sydney local. We're honoured to introduce this playlist and collaborate with a creative like herself. Listen to the full playlist below.

FREQUENCY CHECK

What inspired this playlist, and what does it feel like to you?

The serenity of a sunset. This playlist holds the memories of watching sunsets by the beach in Bali on my honeymoon. It felt like the world was just still in those moments. I will forever have those sunsets captured in my brain forever.

CREATIVE PROCESS

As a DJ and host, how do you separate music for work from music for pleasure?

Being a DJ, you have this creative freedom to play whatever you want and people have this pre framed idea of who you are and what you’re known to play mostly. So separating work and pleasure music isn’t really a thing because I’m so lucky enough to blend the two together. My music for pleasure becomes my music for work.

What role does music play in your creative process — what do you find yourself listening to when you’re making or imagining?

I use music as a tool to pull inspiration and shape ideas. Especially when it comes to creating and editing content so I always find myself listening to Lo-fi uk rap, slow rnb jams and neo soul.

How have life milestones influenced your creativity or the way you express yourself?

Marriage and life growth in general for me has heavily influenced my creativity and the way I express myself. My weight loss journey has to be the number 1 thing I’ve achieved that’s helped me boost where I am today in terms of content creating, DJing and many more things. It’s as soon as I started gaining my confidence back - I was able to pour so much love back into myself, my husband (and marriage in general) and this ultimately impacted my creativity so positively because I grew to be my best self.

FUN

Ride-or-die album — the one you always come back to? This one is such a hard one because there are so many albums I can listen to back to front but a few ones I always come back to have to be: Faith Evan’s - Faith & Faithfully, Jhene Aiko - Souled Out, Beyoncé - Bday & Donell Jones - Where I wanna be (but there’s so much more haha)

What artist, song, or moment first pulled you into this world of sound and creativity? What really shaped and inspired me to even start getting into DJing was discovering and listening to soulection radio back in 2016. This is where a larger scale and world of music had opened to me and how many different/new genres of music actually existed.
